 Recreation League Notice:  All Recreation League players will be notified of their team assignment, coach, game schedule and team roster during the week of September 20th.  Practice dates and times will be determined by the volunteer coaches.  Recreation league games begin on Saturday, September 27th.  The last game of the recreation league season is currently scheduled for Saturday, November 15th.

 


The Montclair United Soccer Club's Recreation program primary goals are to provide a forum for learning a fun game; allow children to meet and play with other children from around town; promote good sportsmanship; provide friendly competition at a level below that of the Travel program; and provide an instructional program where players can develop skills to then continue in Recreation and/or Travel soccer.

Our Recreational programs start at age 4 for Kinderkickers and go through 9th grade.

  • Kinderkickers - a co-education program for children ages 4-6. Our Kinderkicker program is held on Saturday mornings in one-hour sessions. There are no practices during the week. Children wear sneakers or cleats and shin guards, and MUSC provides a shirt. Sessions are at Nishuane School in the Fall and Spring.

    Grade 1 & 2 - same gender games for boys and girls played on small sided fields. Games are played with 5v5 players on the field.  Most teams hold one practice a week during the week and have a game on Saturday. MUSC provides team shirt and socks. Players must wear cleats and shin guards for games and practices. Games are held in various locations around town during the fall and spring seasons. 
     
  • Grades 3 & 4 - same gender games for boys and girls played on small sided fields. Games are played with 8v8 players on the field.  Most teams hold one practice a week during the week and have a game on Saturday. MUSC provides team shirt and socks. Players must wear cleats and shin guards for games and practices. Games are held in various locations around town during the fall and spring seasons. 
     
  • Grades 5 & 6 - same gender games played on full sided fields. Most teams hold one practice a week during the week and have a game on Saturday. MUSC provides team shirt and socks. Players must wear cleats and shin guards for games and practices. Games are held in various locations around town during the fall and spring seasons. 
     
  • Grades 7, 8 & 9 - co-educational games played on full sided fields. Most teams hold one practice a week during the week and have a game on Saturday. MUSC provides team shirt and socks. Players must wear cleats and shin guards for games and practices. Games are held in various locations around town during the fall and spring seasons.
